Our Mission
Nanny Bears settings are an extension of the home. They are calm, relaxed and sociable environments with neutral tones and minimal fuss. Nanny Bears are inspired by ’Hygge’ meaning that all settings are intimate and cosy. They have an atmosphere which invokes a feeling of contentment, happiness, comfort, familiarity, reassurance and companionship. Our children feel at home and have a sense of belonging. All settings are induced with magical activities which inspire fascination and curiosity, and promote individual growth.

Here at Nanny Bear’s we pride ourselves on treating every child as if they were one of our own. Nanny Bear’s is like an extended family member. We understand how hard it is to leave your child in the hands of another, trusting them with the most precious and important person in your life. You want to know that your child is going to be loved, well cared for and respected. You want to know that when they cry they are cuddled, when they fall they are picked up, and when they are good they are praised.
We are different from other childcare providers because, although we believe learning is a very important and essential aspect of a child’s development, we believe love, support and building a child’s confidence is the main basis to ensure this is possible.
We limit the number of spaces within our settings to ensure that all children have plenty of space to explore and play and to have our full attention, this helps make them feel like they are part of a family. Whilst we have a daily routine, we like to keep it fairly relaxed and informal so that parents and children can have a strong input in what the day will look like, if they wish to create an experience to suit each individual family.
However we do feel strongly about encouraging and supporting your child’s development, through creating an unique and inspiring learning environment with highly qualified and experienced staff. All of our key person staff are qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or working towards a Level 3, they have undergone thorough security checks, and all of our senior staff have pediatric first-aid training. We feel extremely passionate about personal growth so staff regularly attend and undertake training and we are a registered provider working under the regulations of OFSTED and Devon County Council.
Our long term vision is ‘Enabling Brighter Futures’, by ensuring we become more sustainable through reducing out energy usage, using environmentally friendly products and continuing our plant based menus. We also aim to have Nanny Bears Children’s Charity, where eventually a percentage of our profits will be used to fund our very own children’s home, to give children in care the best start to life.
